From Monte Cimino, in the province of Viterbo.
Uniform magma stone, grey-coloured spotted by pepper-like grains, from which it takes its name.
Thanks to its peculiar resistance to use and to atmospheric agents and the facility of cut, it is especially suitable for pavings and coverings, both internal and external.
Used since Paleolithic, passing through Etruscans and Romans (who used it to built the Ferento theater, close to Viterbo), has become one of the main building materials during Middle Age and Renaissance, and today is still being used all over the world.
