Design stool in Rapolano Travertine and transparent resin manufactured in collaboration with alcarol.
Rapolano has been always famous for its thermal water springs, thanks to which the Travertine takes shape. Such stone is extracted from the near quarries and used as building material since the Etruscan and Roman times.
The Rapolano Travertine distinguishes itself for its high chromatic variety and the strong character. Its colors range from the white to the dark brown, passing from beige and copper, and they make it unique all over the world, different from all the other kinds of travertine.
The Rapolano Stool for living room is obtained from an eroded block, where the clay, or organic materials, give life to natural concrections by interrupting the natural sedimentation of the travertine and leaving spaces.
alcarol has the bright idea of fixing this alive and eternally changing material by immersing it into a special transparent resin as if it had gone back to the water from which it came.
This design stool shows the Travertine in its natural disposition, with the "clouds" of the cross-cut topside and the well visible veins of the vein-cut sides, everything interrupted by holes that have been settled by moss when the block was outside, which now has been frozen by the transparent resin too.
The nice rawness of the stone and sides where travertine has been left natural characterize Rapolano low stool, without forgetting the special alcarol resin, worked by hand and with passion as our Travertine, able to maintain a perfect transparency even with pieces of big thickness and really resistant from turning itself yellow, thanks to its special formula.
